Digital patterns are documents sent to you by email or downloaded as PDF files or CAD files (dxf, mdl, tmp etc.) depending on your selection in the shopping area, which you can then download to your computer or you can import, print, assemble, and sew at home or workshop. The benefit is that they are instantly transmitted – you can start the project in minutes! In the case of our patterns, they are not overlap on each other, they have the sewing seams included in them, the sizes are clearly delimited by colors, so you have the big advantage that you do not waste time with the read out of the maze of lines and dots, do not waste time with the addition of sewing seams, which can be cut directly once they are glued just by choosing the color of the desired size. To make it even easier, we recommend that you print the PDF file format A1 or A0 at a copy center to avoid even assembling.

Yes, all seam allowances are ALWAYS included in the pattern. We use the industrial seams but also the seam allowance width is always indicated at the page of product at the fabrics and trimmings details.

Based on our location (Europe) we use only metric measurements (centimeters). For customer what order patterns by demand we can work easy with imperial system (inches). The CAD files from the shop use metric system so take in consideration this when import the file (mdl, tmp, dxf etc).

Yes! You are most welcome to sew for yourself, your friends, sell ready garments in your online or physical shop, in your atelier, or even mass produce them. The patterns are absolutely royalty-free. A credit for the design or patterns would be appreciated but is not mandatory.

No you don’t, you can order as a guest. However, registered users can get some discounts, have their patterns stored in their account, can suggest new styles, can submit photos for gallery and win free patterns, can print out invoices and track order history. Can easy request to become a pattern tester for the new, unpublished patterns.

 If you are fine with taping together numerous sheets for the sake of printing at home, choose from one of the PDF formats described below.  YES. In order to keep our prices low of the patterns and to give more size opportunity, we offer some basics sewing instructions,and we give also more detailed instructions only when is necessary. This can be find in the document ”instructions ” what you received together with the patterns. They are not so detailed and don’t have photos of the process except the difficult one. We concentrate more at the fitting of patterns, and we leave our customers to chose the most suitable method of stitching for details according with the fabric used.

Yes we can do. We have a lot of professional services starting from sample room till cutting rooms with special machinery for laying and cutting (laser cutters). However if you love a garment you’ve seen somewhere or you have an idea, you are most welcome to suggest a new style and your photo or sketch will be analyze by our designers,and if it selected, will use it as inspiration for the next pattern to be issued.

NO. You can use this pattern for personal use, commercial use, you can set up a factory and sew how many garments you wish and sell them to store chains and on line, but you are not entitled to resell a sewing pattern purchased from CADPatterns or share it for free. All the pattern from the shop are Royalty free, generally means that you pay a one time fee in exchange for the right to use a pattern (or some other work protected by copyright, patent, or trademark) according to agreed terms and condition, with no ongoing license fees due for further use. It does not mean that the work is copyright free. Each purchase carries with it a license that permits you to use the instructions for personal,charity use, small production or mass production; to sell finished items made from the instructions; to use the finished item or photos commercially to promote further sales of the pattern and/or yarn; to teach from the pattern (provided one copy per student is allowed); but prevents you from converting, amending and selling to another entity or to say is your pattern. This license also covers our free patterns and tutorials.

Start by measuring your bust, waist and hip and comparing it to the body measurements chart from https://cadpatterns.com/size-guide/. If you fit into different sizes at your bust, waist or hip you can “blend” between the sizes to make a custom-fit size that will fit you. So, select the big size and after that make small amendments in the process of stitching.

We do not overlap the patterns,there are nested patterns, so it is easy to select the size after you tile the printed pdf according with the color for the suitable size. When you get the pattern, you will have it in enough sizes to dress the whole family!

CADPatterns files are designed for a woman who is 169 cm tall but also we have patterns for petite and tall ladies. For men our patterns are designed for 178 cm height. For children’s and teenagers the size is according with the height and age.

If you print directly from a web browser you may have this problem. Instead, download the file to your computer first, then use Adobe Reader to open the file and it should work.

In the case if you use one of this CAD software, you are a professional and you do not need instructions how to make the import or markers. If you face problems, please do not hesitate to contact us.
